CMN.ATO.SMSFAR.436202

Getting this error but the surname is present. Have tried deleting and adding back but to no avail.

When validating the tax return, the following error comes up:

CMN.ATO.SMSFAR.436632: Account status must be ‘Closed’ if closing account balance is nil and account has outgoing amounts – If member is not deceased and account has amounts at ‘Outward amounts less any rolled out contributions’ or ’ Lump sum payment’ or ‘Income stream payment’, and ‘Closing account balance’ is zero then Member account status code must be ‘closed’

Solution
If a member has left the fund or is deceased, you need to ensure that the member’s balance is zero and that an “End Date” has been entered for that member under Member List.

Andrew, that is not the error. Mine is 436202, not 436632. It relates to the auditor, not a member.

Via Techs –

The CMN.ATO.SMSFAR.436202 code relates to Intermediary contact details. Ask user to check Intermediary section on the tax return. Is it an old return issue?
